Our story
Studio 79 began taking shape in 2019. It was always meant to welcome travellers, but the pandemic changed the path we took to get there.
The beginning
Studio 79 was under construction just before COVID hit in 2019, built from the start for travellers. When the pandemic shut travel down, the building paused with it, and we rented mostly to students from the nearby universities. As travel rules eased, we returned to the original plan: short-term rentals for visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.
Jon & Hailey
Our story began in Vietnam, where Jon, from Vancouver, Canada, met Hailey while travelling, just before the pandemic. What started as a chance encounter grew into a long-distance relationship and, eventually, a life together.
Today, we're proud to bring that journey full circle by running Studio 79 together.
